When Friday rolls around, I always seem to find interesting pieces that have some sort of ties to the weekend and the alcohol typically consumed. This week is no different and today I’m sharing these super cool beer mat art characters. The beer mat art comes from the Inkygoodness Beermat Characters show which gave 80 artists the opportunity to turn plain beer mats into illustrated characters of their own unique style. The selection is pretty incredible, some artists even went as far as creating a collage of a scene to give their beer mat art more depth.
A cool thing about this article is the video at the bottom of the page. They actually made a video of how they went through the process of framing each set of beer mats. They started by making their own frames, painting or staining them, then they precisely measure and disperse the set within the frame and matte the coasters onto a block. If I was given one of these beer mats at a bar, it most likely would have to “disappear” don’t you think? (via Creative Review)
