Today’s first design inspiration is a special edition of the Creative Review magazine, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the London Underground. There are some really neat features of this March edition in regards to the London Underground. There’s 150 years of typography, advertising and signage, logos, maps and anything you can image. CR describes the edition as the following..
The history of the London Underground is the history of visual communications. We celebrate 150 years of the tube in CR March, where you can read about the evolution of the world-famous roundel, the Underground’s own instantly recognisable typeface, its long tradition of great posters, platform art, maps, much and more…
Even the cover design (above) caught my attention and it reminded me of a design inspiration that I featured before featuring a few vector cities, just with this design being a little more complex. There’s really a lot to look at and to go over at so I can’t go into too much detail. Just do yourself a favor and go check out the full article.
